Born in Nebraska, raised in Iowa, and transformed into a true New Yorker, Kevin brings a unique blend of Midwestern warmth and NYC energy to his teaching. With a background in acting, voice work, and piano teaching, he brings clarity, expressiveness, and creativity to every class.
A lifelong learner himself, Kevin is currently studying Portuguese — which gives him a deep understanding of the challenges and joys of learning a new language. He’s known for his kindness, patience, and sense of humor, and for always making students feel comfortable and supported.
Outside the classroom, you’ll find Kevin playing piano, leading billiards teams to national tournaments in Las Vegas, or passionately discussing Star Trek (fair warning: he will convert you into a Trekkie if you give him a chance).
Kevin is now available for English lessons — blending empathy, structure, and real-life communication to help students speak confidently and naturally.
Manoel Francisco — Portuguese & English
Manoel Francisco brings to Beautiful Languages not only years of teaching experience, but a truly global spirit. Originally from Brazil, Manoel has taught both Portuguese and English to students from all over the world, helping learners build confidence, fluency, and joy in communication.
His journey as an educator is beautifully intertwined with his artistic life. Manoel is also a trained actor, having studied and performed in theater — a background that naturally fuels his teaching with expressiveness, presence, and creativity. (Expect dynamic conversations, storytelling, and the occasional dramatic flair!)
A true modern nomad, Manoel has lived in Ireland, New York City, and San Francisco, immersing himself in different cultures and linguistic communities. This international experience enriches every lesson, offering students not only language skills but cultural insight, real-world practice, and genuine connection.
Known for his warmth, humor, and authenticity, Manoel creates an atmosphere where students feel comfortable, motivated, and excited to learn. He believes language is not just a subject — it’s a bridge to belonging, curiosity, and human experience.

Carol Bruckner — Portuguese Instructor
Born and raised in Rio de Janeiro, Carolina Bruckner is a dynamic and highly experienced Portuguese teacher with a passion for language, culture, and connecting people through meaningful communication. With a Master’s degree in Language Teaching and TESOL certification, she specializes in Portuguese for foreigners, second-language learners, and multilingual speakers — always tailoring her approach to each student’s personality, goals, and learning style.
Carol’s teaching journey has taken her everywhere — from the 54th floor of the iconic Rockefeller Center overlooking Central Park to cozy New York cafés and park benches where vibrant conversations came to life. She has taught CEOs, Hollywood actors, and students from all corners of the world, and has also worked translating TV scripts and training performers in Brazilian Portuguese and culture.
A lifelong artist, Carol brings her musical background into the classroom. She has performed in original rock bands, appeared as a background actor in American TV shows and films, and infuses that creative energy into every lesson. Her classes are known for being lively, warm, and filled with humor — you don’t just learn with Carol, you live the language.
With a nomadic spirit, Carol splits her time between Brazil and the United States — so if you’re lucky enough to find a spot in her schedule, grab it.
